After over a decade Britain’s biggest girl group will hit the stage for a reunion tour in Summer 2024

The tour will be a “celebration” of the late Sarah Harding,39, who passed away in 2021 from breast cancer.

Nadine Coyle, Cheryl, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh shared a video on X (Twitter) announcing the news on Wednesday.

The post read: “Announcing our Girls Aloud Show arena tour next May/June 2024. A celebration of Sarah, our music & our incredible fans. We can’t wait to sing & dance with you again.”

Speaking on the tour Cheryl said: “We all started talking about the possibility of doing something to celebrate Girls Aloud’s 20th anniversary a few years ago.”

“It hasn’t felt right, until now, to do anything without her,” she said regarding Harding. “But now we feel strong enough, emotionally.”

Walsh added: “For us, it will feel very much like she’s there. She came alive on stage. That was the happiest she ever was. With grief, there’s a shift where it’s like, ‘OK, you’re ready to celebrate that person.’”

The group was formed in 2002 on the ITV reality show Popstars: The Rivals. They soon released their debut single ‘Sound of the Underground’, which became 1 of 4 UK chart no.1s.

Girls Aloud became the UK’s biggest-selling girl group of the century. In 2009 their song ‘The Promise’ won the Brit Awards for ‘Best Single.’

Later that year, they went on a hiatus to focus on solo projects. They later announced in 2013 that they had split up.

The British public couldn’t be more excited for the reunion.

Ticket presale starts 29th November, and the sale starts 1 December.
