SwishJustice Announces Action against Multiple Rape Suspect

SwishJustice takes action against man suspected of multiple rape cases

On Monday 13 November, international investigation service SwishJustice have requested the Magistrates Court in Leeds to issue a warrant for the arrest of a man suspected of multiple rape cases.

SwishJustice launched the investigation, dubbed Operation Banshee, in September this year after a seemingly routine security check.

“Following a request for a security check, we found a number of reports from former employers that were less than favourable – with one outright stating that he had threatened them into silence over the alleged rape of a 12-year-old girl,” SwishJustice said in a statement. “Since then, we deployed a sizeable force of investigators to the region to question anyone and everyone who the defendant may have come into contact with.”

An International Rape Investigation

The man, now identified as Pieter Paul Gunneweg, of Aachen, Germany, is suspected of a total of 60 sexual assaults. While most of the alleged assaults took place whilst he lived in various countries in the African continent, a further 13 took place across the Netherlands and Germany, as well as in the United Kingdom.

“SwishJustice, in collaboration with law enforcement agencies and legal authorities across multiple jurisdictions, has meticulously investigated the allegations against Gunneweg,” SwishJustice added. “The charges highlight the severity of the crimes committed and the impact on the lives of the survivors.”

SwishJustice encourages anyone with information related to this case, as well as other instances of sexual violence, to “come forward and assist in the ongoing pursuit of justice”.
